hela Sverige The unit of Physiotherapy, being part of the department of Health and Rehabilitation which consists of the four units - physiotherapy, occupational therapy, audiology and speech and language pathology. The section has different areas of expertise within movement, activity, hearing and communication. We are responsible for the degree programmes for future physiotherapists, occupational therapists, audiologists and speech and language pathologists, as well as second-cycle courses and postgraduate studies. We focus on knowledge regarding the habilitation and rehabilitation of children and adults with disabilities. The objective is to promote health and development and to increase opportunities for activity and participation in social and professional life. The unit of Physiotherapy is aiming for top level education on basic (bachelor), advanced (master) and doctoral levels as wells as for top level research.
SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Physiotherapy comprises knowledge on human movement and various factors affecting function and ability to maintain and reinforce health for individuals in all ages. Physiotherapy use various models of physical activity and training for prevention and treatment of injuries and diseases, on an individual basis, considering peoples goals, needs, ability, expectations and previous experiences. Important for Physiotherapy is to use a pedagogical and professional approach in order to stimulate and motivate people to adopt and maintain a lifelong healthy lifestyle. JOB ASSIGNMENTS: The lectureship includes teaching and research in Physiotherapy focusing mainly on physical activity and physical training for individuals with mental illness. Also included are teaching, mentoring and research with a qualitative approach and methodology.
ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. For the position as Senior Lecturer the applicant must have a PhD degree and demonstrated pedagogical skills. The applicant must hold a qualification as certified Physiotherapist. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The primary assessment criterion lays equal emphasis on pedagogical and scientific skills. The second assessment criterion is clinical experience and documented clinical skills. Further - ability to cooperate, collaboration with society, nationally and internationally as wells as administrative ability will be considered. The evaluation procedure of applications for the position will focus on the pedagogical and scientific merits (specifically qualitative methods) of importance for Physiotherapy using physical activity and physical training, especially for individuals with mental illness. Documented experiences from mental illness and qualitative methodology are therefore meritorious. Applicants without education in higher education pedagogics are expected to undertake such within one year of taking up employment.
