Private Equity Independence and Compliance Manager
EY works with the world's largest Private Equity funds supporting them to acquire, transform and sell assets. As an audit firm EY need to ensure that the firm stays independent and complies with different regulations such as EU PIE, SEC, local and EY independence requirements.
We are seeking a Risk Management Compliance Manager. As the Risk Management and Compliance manager you will become a member of our newly formed EMEIA Private Equity Center of Excellence and work closely with the Nordic Business Development team and Private Equity sector team with main focus on one of our priority clients. The team is focused on Private Equity and helps protect EY from risks that arise from its professional services in the fast-paced private equity sector that spans all industry verticals. The independence and compliance teams play a critical role to provide coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues for all our client serving teams. You will work closely with all parts of the organization to proactively identify, manage, and monitor risk by providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, compliance, regulatory, and ethical issues.
The role will preferably be based in Stockholm, but other Nordic large cities can be discussed. Travel to Stockholm will then be expected.
Your key responsibilities
For private equity companies and their investments, you'll be assigned to specific client account teams headquartered in the Nordics with responsibilities for:
guiding and managing our teams in several areas including enablement of client serving teams with scope of service documents to ensure independence across the private equity company and its investments including pre-IPO procedures,
leading the client serving teams in evaluations of strategic decisions,
driving revenue expansion opportunities by supporting and co-developing go-to-market procedures for various EY Service Line offerings to ensure compliance with professional and regulatory guidelines and
applying subject matter knowledge to enable the development, execution and supervision of monitoring programs in order to(a) assess compliance, (b) track findings, (c) provide action-based results to client serving teams, and (d) assist in remediating issues with key stakeholders (e) understand internal Independence systems.
You'll oversee research and analysis on targeted risk management areas of focus relating to large, complex private equity ownership complexes that will work to mitigate potential independence related breaches and ensure the firm's risk management process is protected while also looking at new areas to drive and support revenue growth through the training and enablement of private equity account teams. As a key member of our Nordics PE sector team, you will work closely with our key account teams as well as supporting teams globally for that specific client in collaboration with local Risk Management teams. You'll be looking at both EU-PIE, SEC regulations and local regulations.
Act as liaison between the Private Equity account teams that you are assigned to support and other members of the Risk Management team on ultimate approval of service-related opportunities.
Supervise the development and enhancement of ongoing private equity independence monitoring that is effective, measurable, and impactful to our client serving teams and clients.
Understand and apply key requirements of firm and regulators' independence rules and policies.
Develop and manage reporting related to various monitoring reviews to provide timely feedback on compliance across a variety of measures.

The right candidate
We are looking for 4-5 years of experience from Big4 or similar with good understanding of independence complexity. The right candidate must have a consultative mindset and be able to work directly with senior client serving professionals to provide the first layer of Independence support and be able to build and leverage a network of contacts within Risk Management across the firm. You must be able to learn and understand the firm and regulators' independence rules and policies. We are looking for someone who has managed offshore resources and can challenge existing processes and approaches to enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, internal controls, and/or customer service and offer innovative ideas for improvement. You must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks and activities in a timely manner and be responsible for specific outcomes. You must exhibit a positive attitude and approach, be willing to accept new challenges, flexible and accepting of change.
The right candidate has basic knowledge of project management tools and methodologies as well as, strong attention to detail, strong research skills and ability to apply sound business judgement to individual and team assignments.

Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
