Currently we are looking for an Attorney in the area of commercial law. Our client, Caterpillar Propulsion is a world-leading company in its segment and part of a global group. This is a part time (50-80%) consultant assignment starting as soon as possible.
Caterpillar Propulsion started out as a small Swedish shipyard in 1912 and today it is a full-scale global operation and part of Caterpillar Marine. The company develop and produce high performance propellers and propulsion systems for commercial ships and workboats around the globe - with a focus on controllable pitch propellers, thrusters, and control solutions. Caterpillar Propulsion have production facilities in Sweden and Singapore and marketing offices around the globe
Responsibilities
Your role is to provide legal counsel and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. As legal counsel you will interact with and provide support to our Caterpillars management team as well as to a number of departments including Procurement and Engineering. Amongst other things you will be responsible for supplier agreements, non-disclosure agreements, corporate governance etc. You will be expected to become a partner of the business and incorporate legal strategies and advice into all aspects of the engagement.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 4-5 years' of experience obtained in a top tier law firm or large corporation in the area of commercial law with experience from M & A, corporate governance and compliance. You have a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) or equivalent and you are qualified to practice law in Sweden or another jurisdiction. Furthermore, you have excellent legal drafting, review and negotiation skills. The position will entail working in an international business environment. As a result you should be an excellent communicator in English, both written and spoken.
As a person you are business oriented with a cross-cultural understanding and have a natural capacity for influencing and building strong networks. Other personal strengths are that you are self-driven, outgoing and a genuine team player.
