Steering In-house SW - Let's introduce ourselves
The Steering In-house SW Team is part of the Deceleration & Steering Department within Vehicle Platform. We are a Centre of Excellence aiming to provide safe and robust solutions in a sustainable way, creating a stunning car experience.

The Steering In-house SW Team is responsible for the development, integration and verification of Steering SW and quality assure Steering functions for highly automated electrical vehicles. We are responsible to deliver a product that complies with all legal and safety requirements and satisfy our stakeholders demands, such as Vehicle Dynamics and ADAS. We are currently working with innovative technologies like the steer-by-wire systems.

What you'll do
You will design, develop, and maintain software for automotive steering systems, including Electric Power Assisted Steering System (EPAS), steer-by-wire, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) related to steering.

You will develop and implement control algorithms for steering systems to ensure precise and responsive vehicle handling. Furthermore, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse software requirements for steering systems, ensuring alignment with overall vehicle design and performance goals.

Other requirements:
• System Integration: Integrate software components with hardware steering systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. Work closely with hardware engineers to define software-hardware interfaces.
• Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans for steering software validation, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing. Utilize simulation tools and real-world testing environments to ensure software reliability and safety.
• Debugging and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software issues and bugs related to steering systems. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance software robustness.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, development processes, and user manuals related to steering systems. Ensure documentation is up to date with industry standards and best practices.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure software development processes comply with automotive industry standards, such as ISO 26262 for functional safety and ASPICE.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive steering software and technology. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of new methodologies and tools.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality steering software solutions.

We are looking for someone proven experience in software development within the automotive industry, specifically related to steering systems. You have experience in creating comprehensive test plans, defining testing strategies, and estimating testing efforts. You can prioritize SW development activities based on project requirements and deadlines.
Other requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with Function testing of CAN nodes in HIL and vehicle.
Experience with SW Function development and tunning.
Experience with SW development tools - MATLAB/Simulink, Carmaker.
Expertise with Testing tools - Vector (and CAPL), dSPACE, DSA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are fundamental for identifying and resolving complex issues in software development.
Familiarity with testing principles and the ability to write and execute test cases.
Understanding different testing levels (unit testing, integration testing, system testing).
Ability to work effectively in a team, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative development environment.
Ability to explore software applications and identify potential issues that might not be covered by scripted test cases.
