We offer an engaging interdisciplinary research environment where you may contribute to high quality research on an internationally competitive level. There is a strong interaction with clinicians and other research labs, locally and internationally. You will use detailed registry-level data on liver disease development in Sweden, as well as highly characterized cohorts with genetic and histological information.
Your mission
Your main role will be to perform a broad range of analyses of registry- and clinical data on large cohorts. You will have the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary as well as an international setting. At our department, you will have vast opportunities to engage and participate in various research forums, outside as well as inside the department. MedH is an inclusive workplace, encouraging collaborative departmental and interdisciplinary research.
This is a position of two years with possibility of extension.
Your profile
You have, or will have at the start of employment, a PhD in fields such as epidemiology or biostatistics. Previous experience in registry-based research, especially using data from Swedish registries, is an advantage, as is interest and preferably experience with liver disease research. Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is required, while knowledge of Swedish is considered a merit. You are highly proficient in using statistical software such as R, SAS and/or STATA. Knowledge about multistate models and statistical methods for pharmacoepidemiology such as marginal methods, landmark studies and propensity score methods is a merit.
Personal qualities that are considered desirable:
- A driven personality, willing to make own decisions.
- Ability to collaborate both within and beyond the group.
- Good team player with interpersonal skills and a considerate manner.
- Willing to learn and collaborate with persons outside your own field.
- Structured and flexible.
