You will be part of ABB Crane Systems in Västerås. ABB's business for crane systems assists ports and shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost efficient way. Crane Systems is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for up to 100 cranes, to the major ports in Europe, Asia and America. In a modern container terminal there are remotely controlled Ship-To-Shore cranes, which handle the loading/off-loading of the container ships. These are in the storage yard supported by stacking cranes, robotized cranes weighing hundreds of tons, which automatically move and with high precision stack the containers. The operation of all the cranes is controlled from a central control room in order to optimize the productivity of the terminal.

As a Lead Electrical Design Engineer you will be technically responsible towards customers in delivery projects and lead the internal design work. The work will also to some extent, depending on size of project, include to produce the plant circuit diagram for the complete crane system and produce the manufacturing documentation for low voltage distribution and control system equipment. Equipment bought from our suppliers such as medium voltage switchgear, transformer and drives will also be part of your responsibility. You will meet an international environment and have a large global customer base. Moreover, in this position you will experience freedom with responsibility and have the opportunity to grow continuously.

You hold a technical high school diploma or a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering. Further, you have experience from electrical design or plant design and related CAD tools. Furthermore, you must be proficient in Swedish and English, written and spoken alike. It is important that you have the ability to lead your design team towards common goals in a structured and meticulous way.
