The Arena
The iMed VP Externalisation/Strategy is the role in the iMed with accountability for ensuring the external environment is integrated into the iMed Strategy and Portfolio. The role has the overall accountability for identifying external opportunities and potential partners, leading search and evaluation teams and major collaborations with Biopharma partners, academic centers and consortia within the iMed.

Accountabilities:
All iMed Leadership Team members are accountable for ensuring that the iMed has the following principles at its foundation:

• Science & innovation
• Collaboration & partnership
• Development of talent
Key Deliverables
• Drive and coordinate the identification and delivery of the best external opportunities whether they are academic or industrial. Ensure that the iMed is considered a partner of choice in its areas of interest.
• Continuously monitor the external environment to identify opportunities, threats and risks in a timely manner.
• Ensure that the external environment is fully integrated into the iMed strategy and portfolio reviews.
• In collaboration with SPBD Alliance Management, manage and coordinate iMed external alliances and relationships.
• Contribute to the activities to deliver the Disease Area Strategies and 3-year Business Plan for the iMed.
• Work with iMed VPs to eliminate silos and build partnerships within and external to the iMed
• Assure compliance of the iMed with the AstraZeneca Code of Conduct and Global Policies
• Support the iMed Head to enhance and sustain the scientific reputation of the iMed

• Create a vibrant, entrepreneurial and externally facing organization focused on delivery and that supports courageous leadership, innovation and collaboration, such that the iMed Strategy team is open to challenge, new ideas, innovative ways of working, and where continuous learning and improvements are driven.
• Collaborate closely with the respective MedI colleagues to align priorities and ensure effective integration of small and large molecule strategies and initiatives.
• Collaborate strongly with other iMed Strategy Leads to identify and exploit cross-iMed opportunities and embed best practice.
Talent Management & Development
• Recruit, retain and develop people to build a world class team.
• Provide high quality feedback and coaching to direct reports (direct and deployed) and mentor key talent in the organization.
