Position/Job Description:
The EU/AP sector of the Husqvarna Group spends ca 180MSEK to cover end user warranty for our products. At the same time the warranty conditions are an important factor when customers are making their buying decisions, i.e. warranty conditions are both a qualifier and a differentiator versus competition.
The new position of Warranty Manager will focus on two themes: 1. Cost control; to make sure that we have a sound process that assures that we don't overspend and
2. Policies; that we establish and maintain competitive warranty policies that are well defined and documented, and appropriate for the individual markets.
Essential Duties:
The warranty manager will work with, and be responsible for, the following areas:
• Be the owner of the Group's IT applications for warranty. That means working in close collaboration with local markets to understand and translate requirements into application specifications and enhancements, and together with the IT organisation make sure that these are developed and implemented.
• Cost control. Establish best practice processes for warranty claim handling to assure that we don't spend excessively. Establish regular cost follow-up reports and forums to monitor development. Be the liaison with the Quality organisation on
technical cost driving issues.
• Establish and maintain centrally harmonized warranty policies that are appropriate and competitive for the individual markets and customer segments.
• Establish and maintain centrally managed standard repair times, or flat rates.
• Participate in development initiatives, such as serial number standards and product traceability methods.
Preferred qualifications:
Education:
Engineering degree at University level, or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience in an international after sales environment, preferably working with warranty issues.
Project management experience, preferably international projects.
People management experience.
Personal profile:
Self motivating, driving, target oriented.
Team player, with high personal integrity. Ability to lead and motivate other persons.
Skills and Capabilities:
Customer focused, Growth oriented, Develops people and teams
Internal and External Contacts/Customers:
The position requires extensive internal contacts within the department, with sales companies, product departments and the quality organisation.
Reporting Relationship:
Indirect Reports - the warranty manager will work through an internal network of local after sales/warranty managers.
Budget responsibility:
The direct result implication is to control and reduce our warranty expenditure, or to improve warranty conditions with the same expenditure.
