Technical Leader Ergonomics

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. As TECHNICAL LEADER ERGONOMICS within the VCC Technical Specialist Program you are a critical contributor to the implementation of strategies for technological leadership.

The Craftsmanship & ergonomics centre is a part of Vehicle Engineering within Research & Development. The Ergonomics section is a part of this department and is fully responsible for leading and managing three main attribute areas; "Visibility", "Daily life usage" and "Occupant accommodation and roominess."

The ergonomics area is focused in the new VCC corporate strategy, Designed around you. This attribute areas has a high impact on customer surveys, The Technical leader role will secure the link between customer requirements and technical objective targets. An important scope in this position is to contribute with ergonomics expertise in attribute balancing tasks within and outside this attribute area and continuously developing of the competence area. The role will strengthen this very customer focused attribute area within the VCC organization.

Job profile:

• Lead development of technical competence and methods within the attribute area ergonomics throughout VCC

• Deliver on annual basis a documented vision, mission & strategy within the ergonomics area.

• Create awareness of the ergonomics area internally, through seminars and courses.

• Establish and maintain external national and international subject matter expert networks.

• Deliver education material and carry through education within the ergonomics area

• Secure expert knowledge in task force mode, in order to find quick solutions to technically complicated problems.

• Build competence and awareness of different customer surveys.

• Develop ways of working towards increased use of results of customer surveys within the attribute area.

• Secure a consistent and steady growth within each sub-attribute area in terms of competence and method development.

• Lead development of target setting and cascading to translate customer needs to objective requirements and to the right competitive set level.

• Initiate annual studies in ergonomic related areas.

• Expand and further develop external networks with universities, through thesis works, PhD projects etc

Your profile:

• Masters degree in ergonomics or equivalent education , preferred PhD

• Experience from working with ergonomic issues in vehicle programs, focusing customer satisfaction > 14 years experience

• Excellent communicative skills

• Result oriented

• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

• Customer focused

• Ability to build and lead teams with analytical focus

• Recognized as a go-to person

• Recognized as authority within ergonomics both within Volvo and externally.

• Media contact experience is an advantage.

• Drivers license (B)
