Position description:
Task Leader for Automatic Parking - Near Field Sensing
At Research and Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars. Together with other engineers from around the world, you will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Safety Electronics is a department of approximately 100 employees that develop systems for Autonomous Drive, Collision Avoidance, Automated Parking, Driver Support and Protective Safety. Through sensor fusion sensors such as Radars, Lidars, Ultrasonic sensors, Cameras, Accelerometers and pressure sensors are combined to create an awareness of the vehicle surroundings that can be used to realize many different Driver Assistance and Safety related functions to support the customer.
Near Field Sensing is now looking for a Task Leader to join our agile development team. Together with an external supplier base we are committed to the development of Low Speed Maneuvering functions through integration of HW and SW into the electrical architecture. The team is responsible for all ultrasonic sensors and supports the integration of a dedicated ASIC into a host ECU. We also work closely with other near field sensors to deliver situational awareness through Near Field Sensor Fusion.
Main responsibilities
• Lead a cross functional engineering effort to deliver a quality assured system solution that meets functional requirements, delivered on time and within budget
• Ensure that a correct part structure is created and that the technical documentation is reviewed and released
• Develop, monitor and update time plans and prioritize the team's work
• Ensure that verification activities are planned and performed in support of the overall project plan
• Assist in system development, trouble shooting and technical reviews with the team and supplier
• Communicate the engineering time plan to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead weekly follow-up meetings with external supplier
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. degree in engineering or equivalent
• Excellent English skills, verbal and written
• 3+ years' experience from automotive industry
• Previous experience from project or team leading roles
• Experience in Volvo Production Development System (VPDS) process
• Driver's license (B)
Meritorious experience
• Experience from Agile development
• Experience from working as an automotive industry supplier
• Experience from electronics or SW development
• Experience from electronics or SW analysis & verification
