What do we offer?

At Propulsion Transmission Systems we are responsible for manual and automatic gearboxes, driveline and AWD system within Volvo Cars. We lead the development within our area in Hybrid, BEV as well as ICE powertrains. The department is working with in-house design and manufacturing on EFAD (Electric Front Axle Drive) and ERAD (Electric Rear Axle Drive) within the MEP (Modular Electric Platform) where we are responsible for the whole development chain of design, CAE and physical verification.

We are in the middle of the fast growing area and working towards new technology of hybrid & electric vehicles, hence we are expanding and looking for new colleagues and this can be an excellent opportunity for you! You will belong to the group Electrical Transmission Design; the group is responsible for design and development of gearbox internal parts for Electric and Hybrid vehicles.

What you 'll do

You will be part of a growing team creating prerequisites for development of transmissions for Electric Vehicles for Volvo and other brands. You will be responsible for coordinating and planning of all activities concerning complete assembly of transmission as well as complete system of transmission, electric motor and inverter in one of our in-house development programs for electric vehicles. This includes responsibility for time, validation, manufacturing, FMEA and prototype plans as well as reporting project status to project and program management.

You will be part of a strong and agile development team with focus of delivering the best possible solution to meet and exceed our customers' demands and requirements of electric vehicles. You will work closely with local engineers in Sweden as well as suppliers and stakeholders on many continents.

Do you fit the profile?

We believe you are passionate about cars, both from a customer and technical point of view. You have at least Master Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent and a solid background from automotive engineering, with experience from a project leading role or similar. Knowledge specifically in transmissions would be a huge advantage. It is required to have previous experience working with suppliers and manufacturing. Previous experience with Volvo Cars processes and TCe is meritorious.

You are organized and focused with good experience in the tools and methods of project leading. Further, you possess knowledge of CAE and validation methods and tools for analysis used and known by others e.g. competitors, manufactures and universities. You have also demonstrated capability and willingness to teach and document technical knowledge. Fluency in English and driving license "B" is mandatory qualification.

You have a high level of engagement and you tend to work with confidence and independence, you are an inspiring leader. It is crucial to be good at cross-functional work and networking, as collaboration with internal and external stakeholders will be part of you daily work; hence, you need to possess great communication and cooperation skills. You also need to be structured and well planned.
