Background
Forum Syd implements the Swedish-Somali Business Program (SSBP) with Business Sweden as its main partner. As a part of the Swedish Government 's Development Cooperation strategy for Somalia over 2013-2017, the ultimate goal of the SSBP is employment creation and increase of income for those economically active in Somalia, contributing to livelihood improvement and human security across the country with a focus on young people 18-35 years, and with a particular focus on women in this age group.
Forum Syd is looking for a Team Coordinator of SSBP for our office in Stockholm, Sweden. This is a temporary position for two years, with the possibility of an extension, starting as soon as possible. Schedule is full time. The position will include some international travel.
Position description
• Handle overall coordination of work plans and activities of the SSBP
• Serve as liaison with Sida, Business Sweden, Forum Syd's country office in Somalia and other relevant actors
• Conduct outreach and marketing, including planning and implementation of all events in Sweden together with Business Sweden
• Provide information to potential applicants and field questions, as needed
• Participate in the management and implementation of the following areas:
• Capacity Development Facility
• Technical/legal assessments of applying entities/companies
• RBA assessments of applications
• Other relevant areas
• Organize and document the Preparation Committee (final grant-making decision)
• Coordinate work with the internal financial controller
• Prepare all reports regarding the program
• Other tasks related to the work in Hub Multi-Regional, as requested by the Head of Hub Multi-Regional.
Qualifications required
• Relevant academic degree or equivalent qualifications
• Excellent coordination and communication skills
• Solid knowledge of the private sector and business development as well as rights-based approach, including Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR)
• Experience working with Civil Society Organizations (CSO)
• Experience of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME)
• Knowledge of socio-political and economical areas of Somalia
• Experience of budgeting, financial management and preparation for audits
• Solid ability to operationalize strategy and track progress (including analyses)
• Experience of (or familiarity with) developing and implementing capacity building efforts, such as training programs, workshops and coaching
• Excellent project administration skills
• Solid ability to express oneself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Knowledge of Somali and international fieldwork experience are additional advantages
