Position description:
Program SQM Engineer
At Supplier Quality Management (SQM) you will be a part of a global Program SQM team ensuring the quality of parts from external suppliers during all phases of product program introductions.
Join the Program SQM team on our journey towards 100% Supplier and Part Readiness in function of flawless launches of product and model year changes or new car programs in the manufacturing plants. The Program SQM team acts as a cross functional interface between several functions such as R&D, Purchasing, NML, MP&L, Manufacturing, site SQM and the external supplier functions.
As PSQM engineer you will actively drive the SQM deliverables for vehicle or PT programs within your product commodity area. Securing a quality & capacity assured launch at the supplier sites, in line with the program requirements and time plan, is your challenge.
The job includes travelling to suppliers and on-site presence at the manufacturing launch locations. Depending on the program and phase frequent travelling might be required.
Main responsibilities:
• Assure program requirements within your areas together with Program Purchasing.
• Report status of supplier preparation and approval activities for your area.
• Manage and participate in early program sourcing activities via Sourcing For Quality Process.
• Manage and follow up supplier part quality preparation activities via Supplier Engagement Process.
• Start the process to define Priority suppliers and secure assignment of champions.
• Manage the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and deliverables within your area together with X-functional teams.
• Manage and safeguard supplier part approval activities via PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) together with X-functional teams.
• Drive supplier quality issues reported during program build events via VQDC, 8D process, 6sigma, ...
• Act as the interface between the Program, R&D, NML & plant launch teams and Site Organization (supplier and site SQM), assuring appropriate communication of program needs within your area.
• Close cooperation with engineering from early phases through complete project.
• Drive, lead and challenge the best possible PSW (Part Submission Warrant) timing within your area in relation to the program requirements and time plan.
• Participate in continuous improvement of Program SQM processes and tools.
• Encourage implementation of Lessons Learned from previous programs and forward own LL to coming programs.
Skills and required experience:
• Education on university level or equivalent experience
• Fluent in oral and written English
• Experienced in working cross-functionally
• Project management skills, milestone & gateways
• Good presentations skills
• Excellent MS office skills
• Knowledge about purchase and SQM organization and processes
• Knowledge about quality tools & systems (APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, Control plan, VQDC, QS9000/TS16949, ...)
• Ability to implement & coordinate complex quality improvement processes (DOE, 6 sigma, Rate of Climb,...)
Meritorious
• Experience in supplier production/production technique and quality is an advantage
• Experience in Manufacturing and Launch is an advantage
• Experience in Product development processes is an advantage

• Strong communication (verbal and written) and social skills
• High focus end excellent drive for result
• Ability to manage multiple items at the same time without losing focus or quality
• Ability to solve problems in a structured way
• Feeling at home in an international and diverse environment

• Travel may be required
