As part of these innovation activities Biomaterials Innovation is developing and commercializing bio-based carbon materials for energy storage, such as Li-ion batteries. The global battery market is expected to increase tenfoldexpand rapidly within the next five ten years, enabling new solutions in the fields of consumer electronics, e-mobility and residential energy storage. With our renewable bio-based materials we contribute to making these solutions more environmentally responsible. As important milestone in our mission, Stora Enso is currently constructing a pilot plant for the production of these bio-based carbons at our Sunila mill in southern Finland.
We are looking for a specialist in quality management. You will be working in the Biomaterials division in Stockholm, and you will report to the Director of Emerging Business in Bio-based carbons.
As a specialist in quality management, your purpose will be to take a leading role in defining, creating and running the quality management system required for the emerging business opportunity of biobased carbons, integrating customer needs, as well as internal stakeholders, such as operations, sales, business development, and regulatory affair.
The Role
Your main responsibilities will be to:
• define, create, roll out and own a quality management system for the biobased carbon production and all adjacent unit operations;
• assess and incorporate target industries' standards and requirements;
• create auditable production environment, including documentation and reporting systems;
• set up quality monitoring procedures, quality KPI's, evaluate performance and make improvement proposals, i.e. process capability;
• participate and give input to quality gate reviews in the industrialization phase of Product Development to ensure reliable manufacturing of products;
• take part in pilot plant operations review and forward formulate scaling investment requirements, including definition of acceptance testing and qualification milestones of new process equipment;
• oversee the Quality Control and testing plan, review results and process performance and initiate improvement projects;
• setup and own root cause failure analysis activities, including trouble shooting activities;
• quality improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma in pilot operations and scaling activities;
• participate and actively take over responsibilities in defining customer quality audit and product acceptance activities.

Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, you have an university degree or similar education (quality management education, certification is required), combined with 5+ years of work experience in quality management of physical products, as well as experience from working with quality management in high tech materials' industries, especially battery materials, automotive, pharma or chemicals. You also have experience in internal and external audits; creating and running of internal education and training sessions for expanding teams; knowledge of QM systems and a track record of creating new systems and adapting QMS for new processes, products and industries. In addition, project management skills are a merit.
You have a structured and organized way of working, a can-do attitude and start up spirit, and are comfortable with international, multicultural and dynamic working teams. Willingness to travel is required for this position. You are proficient in both written and spoken English, other languages such as Swedish, Finnish, German, Chinese, Korean or Japanese are a merit.
In addition to good theoretical and practical knowledge within the relevant field of QM, you are comfortable with creating new systems and thinking patterns. If you have new product development and market introduction experience, then that is considered a plus, as well as the ability to work under high expectancy levels. Customer focus and determination on safety and improving safety in professional environments, are important to you. As a person, you are independent and have both the ability and willingness to guide others.
