As Senior System Engineer is a key role to the successful development of solutions that create high customer value and satisfaction. You will act as the bridge between the users of the system (external or internal customers) and the developers (including HW and SW Designers, Testers and Validators).
Senior System Engineers have an interdisciplinary expertise in railway engineering. By using their extensive knowledge of the railway process, railway standards, ERTMS/ETCS technology, complete signaling systems, safety engineering, vehicles engineering and by working in close collaboration with the users, Senior System Engineers strive to understand the users' operational needs better than the users themselves. By combining this understanding with their know-how, they design and specify technical solutions that RCS can commit to develop successfully and deliver on schedule.
IN YOUR ROLE YOU WILL:
• Identifying customer needs through close collaboration with the customer;
• Elicit, analyze, validate, verify, manage system requirements;
• Defining system requirements, definition of system context and interfaces;
• Decide on system solutions and product selection;
• Support of and definition for generic processes, generic requirements handling, product descriptions and tools (or tool chains) belonging to the product and also for the requirement management itself (i.e. DOORS).
• Support project members, training and knowledge transfers;
• Lead Engineering WP in project.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering/Software/Hardware or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of work experience as System Engineer or System Architect Experience in railway signalling is desirable
• Knowledge of CENELEC standards, EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, EN50159 or IEC61508, ISO26262 and Knowledge of European Rail Traffic Management System is desirable
• Experience in requirement management tools like DOORS and knowledge in modelling tools and languages like SysML/UML highly desired
• Fluent English is mandatory
• Willing to travel a few times per year
