Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as Senior Legal Counsel in our office in Stockholm to support Schneider 's operations in Sweden. You will be the sole legal counsel in Sweden and will be part of the Northern Europe Legal Team with lawyers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Baltics and will also be a valued member of the Global Legal Department.

Job Description

You will be a key business partner and the go-to person for all legal questions that arise in the business. You will work with a wide range of legal issues and be responsible for all legal advice and strategic legal support required by the Swedish operations and management. This will include commercial as well as industrial operations, R&D and other entities such as factories and warehouses, many of which contain international elements.

Typical work will include:

• Prepare, review and negotiate tenders and commercial contracts of a wide variety.
• Prepare template agreements and terms and conditions.
• Provide pre-litigation and claims support as well as overseeing litigation and managing contacts with government agencies and other authorities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and Group policies such as local implementation of business unit and corporate functions decisions (including compliance programs).
• Provide training to management and business teams.
• Evaluate the organization 's activities, policies, practices and transactions to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage external legal service providers.
• Lead, direct, evaluate and develop professional legal staff to ensure the organization 's legal activities are conducted accurately, ethically and per established guidelines

You will also support the appointed Compliance Officer responsible for overseeing investigations on ethical concerns and misconduct in Sweden and you will be the legal lead on Global Strategic Accounts originating from Sweden. Furthermore, you will provide primary legal support to the Data Privacy Officer appointed for Sweden and support group-wide activities with local implementation within Sweden.

You will be working out of Schneider 's facilities in Solna, Sweden and report to the Head of Legal Northern Europe Finance, Control-Legal Affairs based in the Netherlands. Regular travel within Sweden is required. Occasional travel to other locations in Europe is expected as business need is determined. Travel may include some overnight stays.

Who are you?

You have a Swedish law degree (juristexamen) and are an experienced lawyer with at least 6+ years of relevant experience. To be successful in this role, we believe that you have previous experience from an in-house position or have otherwise acquired a solid understanding for how an in-house legal department operates. You need to have a genuine interest in business and must be able to identify and analyze critical business issues and apply legal expertise to deliver a solution. Furthermore, you will be expected to manage a large work load and in order to succeed you will have to be a pragmatic and commercially-minded lawyer with an ability to prioritize. To thrive, you also have excellent communications and interpersonal skills and are able to exercise considerable legal judgment, experience and independent reasoning.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience from the construction, oil & gas and/or environmental sector. You must be fluent in English and Swedish.
