Applications are welcome for a position as research assistant in applied economics in the Agricultural and Food Economics Research Group; Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. We are involved in several projects dealing with agricultural and food production, food demand analysis and international trade. We work in national and international projects in close cooperation with other economists as well scientists from other disciplines.
The research group is located at the Department of Economics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala, which carries out research and teaching related to business administration and economics.
Duties:
As a research assistant, your main tasks will consist of providing support for the members of the Agricultural and Food Economics group in the following areas: 1) applied econometric work on agricultural- and food- related projects; 2) implementation and use of economic models of the agri-food sector; 3) development and management of databases; and 4) policy scenario analysis.
Qualifications:
An achieved Bachelor or Master degree in Economics is required. Excellent knowledge about quantitative methods (i.e econometrics and mathematical programming), econometric and statistical computer softwares, and microeconomic theory is expected. The position requires good organizational skills, and ability to work independently. English proficiency is required. Personal qualities are of high importance.
