The R&D department for CAD/CAM methods is responsible for developing efficient methods for our design and manufacturing sites within Seco Tools and our team is globally spread throughout Sweden, France and India. To continue our digital journey, we are now looking for an R&D Manager for CAD/CAM methods and systems to join us. The location for this position is preferably Fagersta. Other options are Norrköping or at a Seco Tools site in France.
Key performance areas
In this position, you are responsible for a team of senior method developers and development engineers, and together, you increase knowledge and enable the development of CAD/CAM methods and systems in a global context within the R&D area. You lead this organization in a time of major changes in the areas of automation and technology, and your work has true impact on the company strategy and long-terms goals for the area. You ensure we support our many users in the CAD/CAM and Custom Products work by developing more efficient methods and by conducting training. You also support downstream needs and introduce methods to enable shorter lead times, increased flexibility in peak workloads and more automation in our processes.
Some travel is required in this position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Mechanical engineering and experience from working within a manufacturing industry and acting in a managerial position. You are a skilled project manager, and as we operate in and international environment, you have good communication skills in English, both spoken and written, while skills in Swedish or French are beneficial.
You are the comfortable decision maker who enjoys acting in a position where you are expected to balance being an expert with leading a team. You have a communicative personality and reflect integrity and trust, and by motivating and coaching your team members, you find shared ways to add value to our business. In addition, you like working in a changing setting and challenge previous ways of working to find new solutions.
