Who we are
??The Exterior department within Vehicle Hardware develops most of what you see on the outside of the car. We are responsible for the entire process of engineering design of exterior systems such as glass, bumpers & grilles, mouldings, lighting, and large injection moulded exterior plastic parts.
We have the development responsibility for Volvo car's all product families and the development work is done in close cooperation with our suppliers. Development activities are carried out mainly in Gothenburg.
You will work in a creative environment where tomorrow's cars are shaped. We work in flexible cross-functional teams tailored to development tasks. In the team, we are working together, caring and helping each other. We have a wide interface that provides both an extensive contact network as well as knowledge in the many varied property areas.
We develop technology strategies and implementation of advanced engineering, quality assurance of competitive concept solutions, system solutions and offers in the Exterior department area. We have cross functional operation of the department's commitment to product project and product maintenance over time.
What you will do
* We are looking for a highly motivated Project Leader with the ability to get things done but not necessarily in the way they have been done in the past.
* You will work with new car projects and concepts for bumpers and take an active lead in the development and independently drive your results towards project gates and deliverables.
* You are a skilled engineer in program management and used to handle suppliers and preferably dealing with visible parts with high attention to design.
What differs Bumper system from other areas within Volvo is the size of the assignments due to its complexity and numer of parts. You will be part of a team with highly skilled design engineers since we develop our systems as Built to Print. The work is carried out in close cooperation with suppliers, tool makers, design, purchasing, manufacturing as well as the other functions and departments within Vehicle Hardware.
We expect that you develop, monitor and update the relevant schedules of the task and assess whether the level of maturity of the components fulfil the purpose of the series. You will anchor the decision, development and status with responsible line manager as well as communicate goals, commitment, status and forecasts for the task.
You and Your Skills
We believe you have Mechanical engineering degree or other equivalent technical education on B.Sc. degree level with relevant experiences in the field. You are experienced as Project leader and you have target oriented approach.
You have good practical and theoretical knowledge in Volvo systems, KDP/Pecca and knowledge in plastic/painted parts. You have analytical skills and structured approach, with professional attitude. You have a deep knowledge and understanding of setting requirements for visible plastics/painted parts.

We are looking for you who possess high social competence and ability to work cross functionally, within and outside of company as well as having a sense for good collaboration in teams. You have a target oriented approach, drive for delivering in time, solving problems, handling time plans and understands the need for good documentation. You need to act and perform with confidence and integrity.
You need to be performance driven and self-managed, while being a good team player and leader at the same time. We are looking for someone with deep technical skills and interest to grow and follow new technology and design. Analytical and structured approach is necessity to deliver and perform upon high demands and expectations of the business.
