You will

Contribute to the module team as a key member with extensive design experience which you are happy to share with your colleagues. Your new team is responsible for the development of battery modules within Volvo. You are a curious person who looks forward to applying your knowledge in battery module design and are interested to continue learning every step of the way. Other related technology areas also interest you, and preferably you have experience in them as well. Areas such as materials, light weight design, electrical components, cooling and associated manufacturing processes of modules. You are interested in working in an agile and approachable organization with skilled teams consisting of passionate people. You will be encouraged to speak up! We want you to be heard.
Be the technical leader for the module design, with a wealth of applied industrial experience you will actively defining requirements for the modules with input from the System Architect, Engineering Team and other stakeholders.
Break down Electrical Storage System (ESS) performance and usage, safety, and durability
Be responsible for the teams' backlog and prioritization activities
Develop the module development roadmap and decide on appropriate research activities.

How to succeed

You demonstrate that you can be a technical team leader with strong collaboration skills. You have the analytic mindset of a true problem solver. With extensive experience from Li-ion battery module development and design you can easily plan, align, and focus on the most important things and highest priorities. You have a can-do attitude and like to deliver with a great outcome.

You are also:

We believe you meet the following qualifications:
Innovative and hold a Master of Science in Chemical, Physics, Electrical, Mechanical and Materials engineering or equivalent
Proven experience and fluency with at least 6-8 years of work experience within industry contributing to lithium-ion battery design & development. This includes battery cell, module, certifications, standard and the production process
Comfortable to work in an Agile way, using work sprints and collaborative decision making to get the best possible results
Have held lead positions in an industry setting working with battery design, with regard to technological, mechanical and thermal elements
Highly skilled in CAD having comfort in using CREO or CATIA.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.

About Electromobility Department

We are responsible for developing electromobility solutions. This means we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the electrical storage system (ESS). Our work includes advanced engineering, product development, and the maintenance phase. We secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions.
