Duties:
The post doc is main responsible for three scientific studies that together form the project. The research questions deal with how the species assemblage of saproxylic insects are affected by different properties of the wood with the aim of improving the recommendations for how bioenergy harvest can be done with a minimized negative effect on biodiversity. You are expected to collect new data from the field for two of the studies, data which are complementary to data the has been collected in earlier research projects. For the field work there are fund available for a field assistant. In the third subproject data for analyses are already collected. You are expected to actively develop the project and plan the studies, to coordinate the practical work and analyse collected data and to write scientific publications. All of this is done in cooperation with the project leader.

Qualifications:
The applicant should hold a Ph D in ecology (or in a similar subject relevant for the project), preferably within the last three years. Experience from work with insect diversity on species level, collection of samples in the field, conservation strategies in forestry, community ecology and statistical analyses of datasets on species assemblages is a merit. A strong publication record (in relation to the time since dissertation) is a merit. The applicant is supposed to be able to take own initiatives and work independently. Skills in written and oral communication in English is a requirement. Driving license is also a requirement. Knowledge in Swedish is a merit.
