We are now looking for a student to take on the assignment:
Master Thesis - Computer-aided engineering of Gas Turbine Combustor Assembly.
Combustion R&D department:
There are about 30 persons who are responsible for the combustion system in our gas turbines portfolio. Our tasks are development of combustion systems on our existing gas turbines and future engines. We also give support to other departments such as manufacturing, sales, commissioning and service
The assignment:
* The basis for the work is a CAD assembly of a gas turbine combustion chamber. The target is to identify a more efficient way of working in the CAD software NX and the PLM software Teamcenter by keeping the benefits of maintaining the assembly structure during the whole process from CAD modeling to structural mechanics modeling, simulation and simulation data management.
* Cases to explore include:
+ Coupling and traceability of individual parts between FEM (mesh) assembly and CAD assembly in NX and Teamcenter.
+ Automatic update of FEM assembly in NX upon update of an individual CAD part.
+ Revision handling of individual FEM parts in a FEM assembly.

* Student of master's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
