For our Import department, we are looking for an experienced freight forwarder to strengthen our team as:
Global Forwarding Representative - Ocean Freight Import

Job Responsibilities
As Ocean Import Specialist you will be responsible for the complete import of LCL and FCL shipments processes for a portfolio of customers. In cooperation with the team you will ensure that all shipments are being handled smoothly taking the needs of the customer into account.
In this function you are not only responsible for coordinating and arranging the transport, but also responsible for arranging all the documentation such as customs documents, issuing Bills of Lading, arranging buying rates and issuing the invoices, as well as making offers / quotations to our customers, agents and offices worldwide.
A pro-active approach to take initiative in improving processes within the department is an additional benefit the ideal candidate will possess.
Your accountabilities will include:
• Account Management
• Quotation of business opportunities
• Booking and monitoring shipments
• Handling of export orders, custom clearances and documentation (LCL, FCL etc.)
• Billing
• Shipment Planning
Candidate Profile
• Minimum 3 - 5 years working experience in Ocean Import
• Proven experience in managing end to end processes within the shipping industry
• Excellent knowledge of the English Language, verbal and written. Additional European languages are an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with customs procedures and formalities (issuing customs documents)
• Established track record of dealing with customers and being client focused.
• Excellent commercial awareness and insight with strong sales abilities
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a pressurized environment
• No 9 to 5 mentality with an eagerness to excel in a multi-national environment.
