Role description
We are recruiting a General Counsel with global responsibility to provide legal support to the Volvo Group Connected Solutions organization and develop the objectives for the legal and compliance function. You will monitor, assess and handle legal and compliance risks within the area of designing, operating and supporting customer-oriented connected solutions and services for Volvo Group products. You will work in close co-operation with the technical and business organizations. You will report to the Senior Vice President Volvo Group Connected Solutions and be a member of the Volvo Group Connected Solutions Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality legal advice to the daily operations, including drafting and negotiating agreements, such as collaboration-, partnership-, development-, technology license- , IT-, joint venture- and M&A related agreements; support with respect to general data, data privacy and data security matters, IPR, open source, and also handle disputes and litigations, provide relevant trainings and supporting documents such as contract templates and guidelines
Implement Volvo Group policies, strategies and procedures within the legal field and promote legal compliance
Collaborate with other legal functions within the Volvo Group to secure alignment and successful execution
Work effectively with and manage external legal resources
Champion a culture in line with Volvo values and principles
Be a member of Volvo Group Connected Solutions Leadership Team. As a member of the leadership team you will be involved in business development activities and other projects
Participate in Boards, Councils, Committees and Networks as deemed appropriate
Competence Profile & Qualifications
Extensive experience in business/transaction management and a solid knowledge within the legal fields of data and IPR
Experience from software-, service-based and/or data-driven business is a merit
Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to apply legal, business, technical and financial aspects in providing legal advice
Strong business acumen and gravitas in internal and external meetings, have extensive experience of providing advice to senior and top level management
Strong leadership qualities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good judgment and strong personal credibility, integrity and creativity
Successful in building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team
Excellent professional skills and ability to work in a fast paced, multicultural and diverse environment
You have a Master's degree or equivalent as the basis for your career. We believe that you have around 10-15 years work experience. You are fluent in English. International business experience is a merit. The successful candidate will have shown a winning attitude and great persona in combination with a strong track record and references.
Location & Timeline
