Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter
Human Rights Watch ("HRW") is seeking a Fundraising Consultant in Sweden to assist the Development and Outreach Department. The Consultant will report to the Managing Director of the Development and Outreach Department who is based in London.
Responsibilities:
1. Building financial support by soliciting major gifts and general support funds;
2. Researching, identifying, cultivating, servicing, and soliciting new prospects and existing donors;
3. Managing events in Sweden including an annual fundraising dinner, briefings, advocacy meetings, film screenings, and cultivation events;
4. Communicating the work of HRW to existing and prospective supporters;
5. Creating and tracking donor lists, fundraising reports, and expenses;
6. Assisting with promoting HRW's advocacy initiatives in Sweden;
7. Liaising with the advocacy and communications divisions on schedules;
8. Assisting with the administration of HRW's legal entity in Sweden; and
9. At conclusion of consultancy, composing a brief report on the progress and recommendations for necessary next steps.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of fundraising experience, and must be fluent in Swedish and possess strong oral and written communications skills in English. Experience in coordinating large fundraising events is also desired. The applicant must be a disciplined self-starter who can work independently and also function as a member of a team. Familiarity with donor databases, particularly Raiser's Edge, is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to human rights and/or international issues. The candidate must have work authorization to legally work in Sweden.
