Our Exciting Opportunity
It will be practically impossible for human brains to understand how to run and optimize next generation of wireless networks, (i.e. 5G networks), that will drive economic and social transformation for all aspects of society. Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and overall Data-Driven technologies will be vital for us to handle this opportunity.

In the Product Development Unit for Converged Core we work with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core networks which provide Communication Services to people in wireless networks. These services range from Voice and Video (over 4G and 5G) to Emergency Calling and Enriched Messaging. Within the PDU CC Technology & Evolution department we have a newly established system team for Data Analytics where we aim to unleash the power of Data-Driven technologies such as AI and ML for a diverse set of applications. Our purpose is to create high impact at every step of the way, with focus on improving customer experience through an enhanced Data-Driven portfolio, as well as boosting our R&D internal efficiency.

As a Data Scientist you will be responsible for developing new intelligent applications around our IMS core products through applied research. You will get to work with best in class local team of subject matter experts to identify and work on next generation use cases and functions to drive innovation and industry disruption. You will also have the ability to influence and drive exciting, challenging projects. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who is passionate about building and deploying mathematical models for challenging problems.

You will
Develop scientific methods, processes, and systems to extract knowledge or actionable insights.
Develop prototypes and create cutting edge AI/ML applications for IMS and overall telecommunications industry.
Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development processes and business strategies.
Use predictive modeling to enhance customer experiences, as well as to identify revenue generation opportunities.
Assess the effectiveness of new data sources and data gathering techniques. Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
Report to Solution Design Manager


To be successful in the role you must have
MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of professional experience in research, data science or engineering around building and operationalizing Machine Learning or statistical models.
Strong programming skills and strong understanding of data science and Machine Learning tools and frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit Learn).
Knowledge to balance the considerations on resources, efficiency and footprint requirements when designing an intelligent solution or architecture.
Familiarity with Linux/OS X command line, version control software (git), and general agile software development.
Ability to explain sophisticated topics in straightforward terms.
Experience with fast prototyping.
Strong ambition to learn and implement current state of the art Machine Learning.
Strong attention to details.
The people skills required to work with data science teams, subject matter experts and stakeholders.


You might also have:
Knowledge in these specific technologies: Kafka, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Spark, Hadoop, Kubernetes.
Experience working with both discriminative and generative models for time series data.
Telecommunications data and domain knowledge (IMS would be a plus).
Familiarity with AutoML and Machine Learning Lifecycle Management (experience with Dataiku's DSS would be a plus).
