Who we are
The team members of Commodity Purchasing Exterior are working to secure a supplier base for current demands as well as securing the future challenges. We are working in an international environment and collaborating with our colleagues in the Volkswagen and Traton group.
We are a multi-cultural team of purchasers with a great mix of backgrounds, experiences and competences. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-functions and always try to find the best solutions for Scania. We strive for a climate where opinions and knowledge is openly shared within the team and learning is continuous.
Responsibilities
In your role as a commodity buyer you will be working closely with and supporting the product group owner in realizing the strategies for the product group. You will be part of a team with several colleagues with different responsibilities, such as current product range, new products and quality assurance. You will support with operative and administrative tasks as well as taking on your own assignments aimed towards our goals of deliveries in time to the right cost and the right quality and developing the suppliers towards our sustainability goals.
We can also provide development opportunities within the role after a successful introduction period, for example by taking on more complex cases and negotiation cases. You will have many cross-functional interfaces towards for example R&D and production, as well as with suppliers.
Your profile
You are a person with commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple things at the same time.
You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing in cross functions as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team.
We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar. You might have worked a period of time in a business to business environment, but most important is your ambition and willingness to learn.
As the role involves communication with global suppliers and the language used in the team is English, you are fluent in writing and speaking English. Other language skills is an advantage.
