Are you a driven, creative and experienced Category Manager looking for your next exciting challenge? MultiMind is currently looking a person for one of our clients for a stimulating role within retail. The work is located at our client’s headquarters in central Stockholm and is set to start as soon as possible.
Our client
Our client is a leading actor within retail in Sweden with operations internationally. In this role you are part of the department of Assortment and Purchasing and will be working to create an attractive, customized and profitable product range with products from strategically important regions. You will work to ensure that customers today and tomorrow meet the requested range, with good profitability.
The specific business area that you will be working in is a sub category that is of strategic importance for the company looking forward. Therefore they are now looking to create a new position that is purely going to work with this area. This service also includes coordination and knowledge sharing to other business areas by strategically important products for the priority regions, notably the Middle East, Northeast Africa, Poland and the Balkans.
Your mission
As Category Manager within the area you have complete responsibility for your categories. You are responsible for:
Sale
Profitability
Market shares
And:
Develop existing product
Develop new concepts in the category
Develop strategies for the product area
The idea is to eventually become the company's expert in your product. The role is both strategic and operative where you will contribute with content material about the products for mail-outs, as well as keeping a close dialogue with stakeholders of different levels and analysing the company's total offerings for the priority regions.
Operationally, your job will include preparation of reports, assisting with Article management, competitive price analysis, store dialog, customer contacts and and other daily operations of the category. Strategically, the position includes the development of strategic category and business plans as well as to manage the entire product range revisions in the category. Part of your work will also be put on competitive intelligence and to follow demographic developments in the field.
The product is experiencing strong growth at the moment and most of the products are within the Colonial/dry range which you are responsible for. However there are also products in other category areas. Hence, you will coordinate the work of other categories in order to enhance the overall product range and offering for the whole the concept.
You wil also have to drive the cross-functional work within your product/caterogry range. You will be expected to initiate and coordinate work with stakeholders such as purchasing, product development, space, price, marketing, logistics and data quality.
Your background:
We expect you to have previous experience of developing business and passionate about your job.
As a category manager, we see that you meet the following formal criteria:
You have earned a Business Administration / Master of Science degree or equivalent, or have the equivalent knowledge through experience.
Previous experience from catagory work on this range of retail or supply chain is an advantage.
You have good computer skills and speak Swedish and English fluently in speech and writing.
Experience of strategic category management and retail experience is an advantage.
