The Stockholm School of Economics is seeking a development focused and visionary Library Director.

The Library Director will, together with a team consisting of about twelve colleagues, play a key role in developing the Library and SSE.

The Library
The SSE Library is a highly digitized information and knowledge hub supporting and empowering researchers and students to find fact based and creative ways to conduct scholarly work. Furthermore, the library is a key partner for the dissemination, preservation and utilization of scholarly output, including research data, as well as in bibliometric analyses. The library is also a physical space for reflection, exploration and inspiration.

Some ongoing development projects that you as the Library Director will oversee:

- As first customer in Sweden, SSE is implementing the Ex Libris Esploro solution as its Current Research Information System (CRIS), the new system is planned to go live in the fall of 2022.
- SSE is building up its cross-departmental support function for FAIR research data, a project that is owned by the library.
- The library has an important mission in supporting SSE's educational mission FREE* and should continue to develop educational workshops, events and seminars to promote FREE-values in collaboration with faculty, SSEs pedagogy development team and SSE Art Initiative.
- SSE has received a generous donation from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation to refurbish the signature spaces of the premises on Sveavägen: the aula, atrium and library. The Library Director will have a unique opportunity to co-create a historic space that meets future needs.

Main duties and responsibilities
You will manage the operational and strategic activities of the unit and will be responsible for the library's budget. You will have the responsibility for the team's work environment as well as for its continuous professional development. You will also own larger development projects which are run in collaboration with other units, particularly in the areas of open science. Of course, you will network regularly with strategic partners within and outside of the organization. We offer you an engaging role at one of Europe's leading business schools and a chance to strengthen SSE's position together with your team. The challenge is to continue to develop a small/medium sized specialized academic library with a large mission.

Qualifications
An academic degree in is required, as well as at least a few years as a manager. An understanding of the terms, processes and conditions of working in academia is essential as well as experience from working at a modern research library. You are perceptive to the organization's culture, language and vision but are not afraid to question current structures and work procedures. You have outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills and are a brave business visionary who inspires trust and can turn visions into practice. You have proven analytical, strategic and leadership skills. You communicate and involve others before taking strategic decisions. You have an ability to inspire and motivate others and you know how to bring strategic goals to clear actions. You have a holistic management approach and excellent written and oral communication skills in English as well as Swedish.

Permanent employment, full-time. Location: Stockholm School of Economics at the centre of Stockholm.
