Volvo Trucks International is responsible for sales and marketing activities in Africa, Middle East and Asia/Pacific markets, covering truck sales in 56 countries.
Vice President Human Resources for Sales Area Volvo Trucks International (VTI)
The Vice President HR has the overall responsibility for Sales Area Volvo Trucks International HR activities.
Mission
You will drive HR strategic activities to support the trucks business (commercial and network activity) within the Sales Area. This involves translating business strategy into aligned HR plans and actions and ensuring their delivery in the business.
You will ensure coordination of the HR function to provide effective leadership to reflect the Volvo Way and promote the Customer Company's vision and the Volvo Trucks Strategic Objectives.
Main activities and responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Support the SVP VTI and the SVP HR in converting business and global HR strategies into relevant HR activities and plans.
• Implement Human Resource programs, processes and policies within the Sales Area.
• Support senior managers in handling leader sourcing, talent development, succession planning, performance management, competence development and compensation & benefits.
• Drive, challenge and support line managers regarding change management, employee engagement, culture and people development, to improve business performance by using available programs and tools.
• Provide analysis of HR data to understand trends and resolve problems in order to support the capability of the organization.
• Advise, challenge and support the management on HR related matters, based on high ethical standards in line with Volvo values, standards and principles.
• Guide and coach HR Directors in the countries in their HR operations.
• Implement Volvo Trucks Compensation practices based on Volvo Group policy and country legal requirements.
• Support managers in handling various aspects of labor and employee relations.
• Work closely with Volvo Trucks HR Management team as well as with HR Center of Expertise and HR Services (when applicable) in the different countries.
Qualifications and critical competencies for the position
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 5 years HR generalist experience.
• Proven track record as a "HRBP Partner" or as a Leader.
• Additional HR education/training preferred
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and multi-cultural communication skills
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing and leading change management
• Solid negotiation skills with the ability to represent the Company's interest; negotiate and drive the best outcomes for Volvo.
• Experience in Organisation Development and Business Cycle Management (i.e. Workforce Planning/Strategic Planning)
• Understand and ability to apply all HR processes and policies in the HR Service Delivery Model
• Ability to work successfully in a global organization and intercultural context.
• Demonstrated expertise in coaching and facilitation
• Leadership competencies on the level of leading Leaders.
• Fluent in both speaking and writing local and English language
