Background and Organization
Volvo GTO in Köping is looking for their next Production Engineer within the area of Machining Engineering Development. To be able to achieve our goal of becoming the best transmission factory in the world, we need world class employees. The automotive industry is facing changes with new products and requirements as well as new possibilities with Industry 4.0 and digitalization. Volvo GTO in Köping will strengthen our Machining Engineering team with a specialist focusing on developing our Machining Engineering tools and processes.
You will be a member of the Machining Engineering department. The department consists of about 50 engineers and technicians. Our area of responsibility is to prepare and industrialize new components and processes, refine existing components, maintain and if needed extend the installed capacity. The area is also responsible for technical support and continuous improvements that can be divided into reactive and proactive problem solving.
Main Areas of Responsibility
As a Production Engineer, you will work in both local and global projects within development of machining engineering tools and processes. Your role in projects can be a project manager or specialist with the responsibility to find and develop technical solutions. You will also lead global networks and participate in external development projects with other companies and universities.

Development projects within Engineering
Create, develop and manage business systems and engineering tools
Lead global networks
Develop and establish TRM (Technical Road Maps)
Collect and analyze data
Super-User for specific Engineering Tools
A suitable candidate for the role as production engineer has a structure way of working and has the ability to drive the development of new ways of working, engineering tools and business systems according to customer needs. The candidate also has an ability to cooperate and lead projects. We put high value in personal characteristics such as analytical abilities, high ambitions and always strives to deliver according to time plan. This position will require occasional business travels.

Personal Profile and Qualifications
For this position, we see that you have the following qualifications and skills:
M.Sc. within the area of technology engineering or IT with a strong technical interest
Experience of industrial engineering work
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in both Swedish and English
Good leadership abilities
As a person we see that you have a proven ability to contribute to a team oriented environment. You should have the ability to collect relevant data from a customer need to develop a solution by using creative and analytical methods. As a production engineer, you are an important support function and it is crucial that you are service minded. Your focus should always be a happy customer.
