Group Trucks Operations is the entity within the Volvo Group responsible for Global Truck manufacturing, including Cab & Vehicle Assembly, Engine Production, Logistics Services, Parts Distribution and Remanufacturing.

Together, Group Trucks Operations organize almost 35,000 employees at 70 larger or smaller units on 6 continents.
GTO E&BM is responsible for manufacturing and assembly of cabs, complete trucks and knock-down (KD) kits for the Volvo and Renault in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Our task is to supply the markets with the right number of trucks in a quality-assured process, at the right time and at the lowest possible cost. GTO E&BM has production at 7 plants the plants are located in Göteborg and Umeå in Sweden, Ghent in Belgium, Bourg and Blainville in France, Curitiba in Brazil and Kaluga in Russia.
The Vice President, Umeå plant operations will lead the Umeå plant which is situated in Sweden and have production of cabs for Volvo Trucks. Currently we are having approximately 1500 colleagues.
Main Responsibilities
Provide on-site leadership, motivation and direction through teamwork and communication at all levels; ensure the compliance with company and local policies, regulations and values
Act as a worthy Volvo representative towards customers, suppliers and local authorities
Apply business acumen and take the full responsibility for the complete chain of business result
Manage production planning and capacity of the plant in full cooperation with the relevant GTO E&BM or GTO staff functions
By implementing Lean practices(VPS) deliver sustainable results on safety, quality, delivery at lowest cost with minimum inventories
Participate actively in the management team of GTO E&BM

We seek a Plant Manager who can organize, motivate, lead and, most importantly, transfer our vision into day-to-day activities. Implementing the vision of Umeå Plant requires a sound knowledge of production and extensive practice of lean manufacturing (as Volvo Production System) and being an inspiring VPS coach to the managers and all the employees in the plant.
With a real talent for cultural integration, and business analyses the VP Umeå Plant Operations hold a University/Master's Degree or equivalent, and is able to demonstrate successful managerial, organizational, monitoring & review, and interpersonal & team building skills, as well as plant related manufacturing assembly processes knowledge in a lean manufacturing context.
Demonstrating a high and solid level in each of the Volvo Group Leadership competencies for the leading business level, the VP Umeå Plant will be an inspiring and inclusive leader as well as an active team worker.
