The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services (VFS) is seeking a Vice President, Controller to continue the journey of excellence in financial reporting and management together with the Global HQ team.
What you will do
As Vice President, Controller, you will be responsible for, and manage, the financial consolidation, reporting and the associated developments in finance for the international financial captive of the Volvo Group.
Your starting point, will be to, together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, take responsibilities in the following areas:
Monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation and financial reporting for VFS
Liaison with VFS financial teams in VFS operating companies
Collaboration with Volvo Group HQ functions for all accounting, financial reporting, taxation, and other related matters
Drive the development and implementation of financial systems and future strategy for VFS globally
Support the development of financial professionals across the VFS organization
Your future team
You will report directly to the SVP, Finance & CFO of VFS. You will manage a team of financial experts responsible for financial accounting, consolidated reporting, taxes, global control, and financial reporting systems. You will work closely with VFS HQ executives, VFS markets and Volvo Group HQ to ensure accuracy, clarity and understanding of financial results and associated developments. You will be educated to university degree level and have one or more of the following post-graduate/professional qualifications:
Relevant MBA
Chartered or Certified Accountant / CIMA / CPA - or equivalent professional qualification
Languages: English fully proficient; proficient in other languages appreciated
In addition:
>15 years progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, accounting and financial management - preferably in the financial services industry, including:
Controllership level responsibilities
Proven leadership skills demonstrated by successful managerial experience
Multi-national corporate work experience required
In-depth knowledge of finance and lease accounting in a large corporate setting is desired
Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial information systems, consolidation accounting rules and procedures
Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast paced, demanding environment
Sound business judgment and decision-making
Innovative problem solving and strong analytical and quantitative skills
Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Navision as well as exposure to SAP, Hyperion
Innovative problem solving, research and analytical skills
Strong evidence of personal initiative and outstanding communication skills
Ability to build and lead a best-in-class Finance department through attracting, developing, and retaining staff
Attention to detail and focus on quality
