We are looking for
We at Clevry are looking for a Trade Compliance Officer to our client Fortum. The position is fulltime permanent contract, and you'll be employed directly to Fortum. Starting in this position is as soon as the right person is found. The job is located either in Espoo, Finland or Solna, Sweden.
You will work closely with the CCM business to secure that Fortum's strategic priorities to deliver reliable clean energy and drive decarbonization in industries is implemented in a compliant way throughout the value chain. The Compliance Officer would in particular work to ensure that our trading activities align seamlessly with industry and company regulations and ethical standards.
Your role will involve supporting and educating our traders, providing them with the knowledge and guidance necessary to navigate complex regulatory landscapes successfully. You will also work with trade surveillance tasks and meticulously monitoring our trading activities to guarantee compliance.
In this role you will:
Work alongside the Senior Compliance Officer to oversee and regulate electricity trading activities
Collaborate closely with traders, supporting and educating them about compliance issues and market conduct rules
Conduct trade surveillance to monitor and ensure compliance with industry regulations
Contribute to internal and external training initiatives, fostering a culture of compliance awareness within the organization
Uphold high ethical standards, promoting a compliant and ethical trading environment
Contribute to the development of compliance processes, as well as the overall work in the CCM Legal & Compliance Team

Our expectations
Several years' work experience in Trade Compliance
Strong understanding of compliance principles
A strong analytical approach
Knowledge on regulations related to commodity trading (REMIT, Mifid, MAR)
Previous experience with REMIT and market conduct related rules, or practical experience from working under these rules at a trading desk or at a supervisory authority or power exchange is a merit.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring thorough compliance monitoring and reporting.
Experience and/or interest in holding internal or external compliance-related trainings
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively educate and support the trading organization. Working language is English, and Finnish/Swedish would be beneficial.
