Design of aero acoustic contraction device - BSc Thesis Work 15 ECTS
The Bachelor of Science Thesis work will be performed at Volvo Group.
The thesis work is initiated by Volvo Group Trucks Technology department, which is responsible for product development within the Volvo Group.
Flow generated noise has a significant impact on driver comfort. Investigation of flow generated noise can be made in several ways, the aim of this thesis work is to design a device to direct flow in a controlled environment.
You will design a contraction device that fits current equipment. The work will include the following topics:
* 3D scanning of interface between contraction device and current equipment
* Create a digital twin of the scanned equipment
* Design contraction device, fastenings and connections based on literature study and simulations
* Perform calculations of forces acting on the device
Your profile:
* Bachelor of Science student at mechanical engineering program
* Knowledge in CAD
* Knowledge in aerodynamics is beneficial
* Knowledge in geometrical measurement methods is beneficial
