The future belongs to those who are empowered by great ideas and can carry them out. We are ready to move into the future, defining and driving the development of the future autonomous transport solutions for the Volvo Group. Now we need you, Technical Support team members with a passion for solving technical issues and supporting our customers.
Who are we?
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (VAS) is the business area within Volvo Group that accelerates the development, commercialization, and sales of autonomous solutions. The vision for Volvo Group is to be the most desired and successful transport and infrastructure solution provider in the world. We don't sell trucks and machines: we operate the solutions through the full life cycle to maximize the improvements achievable through autonomy.
That goes hand in hand with our long-term ambitions: 100% Safe, 100% Fossil free and 100% more productive. The automation of our vehicles is seen as a natural step towards reaching that goal. Joining the Volvo Group means contributing to a large global company that is transforming itself towards these ambitions. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a team culture where differences are seen as a stepping-stone to better results.
We are unified by diversity, great ideas, and inclusiveness. Our colleagues are the most important part of our story so every member in our team matters and plays a critical role in our journey to success. You will work alongside a talented group of colleagues who respect each other's differences and seek to understand fresh perspectives.
We are an equal opportunity employer with office locations in Sweden and in the US. Whoever and wherever you are we strive to offer you flexibility and work-life balance to enable high engagement and fulfillment in both your professional and personal life.
What's the role?
As a Technical Writer, we'll be counting on you to own and develop service manuals. Your role involves not only supporting and educating our development team but also ensuring that our engineering documentation meets the required standards.
You'll be responsible for documenting instructions for service, repair, inspection, and modification. This includes detailing the needs for spare parts and special tools, and the estimated technical time related to the above-mentioned instructions. Additionally, we need you to document operator instructions and display messages, providing clear guidance for users.
Your tasks also extend to producing specifications, system diagrams, and function descriptions to enhance our technical documentation. We value collaboration, so you'll work closely with the spare parts manager to update the Spare Parts catalog, in dialogue with our Maintainability/Technical Support Engineers. As the go-to person for any support request related to technical information and translations, you'll be the first point of contact, ensuring smooth communication.
And let's not forget about continuous improvement! Your input in enhancing uptime support processes will be crucial in boosting our overall efficiency. We're excited to have you on board and see the impact you'll make! As a member of the team, you contribute to the overall team's responsibilities. The team is initially based in Sweden and is part of the Transport Systems and Machines/Vehicles team in Volvo Autonomous Solutions' Technology organization.
Who are you?
You have prior broad experience in a relevant field such as aftermarket or the automotive industry.
Previous experience of Volvo Trucks and/or Volvo Construction Equipment is a merit.
It is very important that you are a team player and can contribute to a great teamwork spirit. We believe you have a natural ability to collaborate in a multicultural company environment, creating strong links between our customers, commercial and technology teams.
What might seem like a challenge to others, is an opportunity for you. If you recognize yourself in this description, you are probably the person we are looking for. We are excited to discover how your contributions could enhance our team!
We are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent to differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender, and nationality, among others. We find that well-balanced work teams increase group dynamics, creativity, and new approaches to solutions.
We look forward to receiving your application
Joakim Dahlgren, GTM (Global Technology Manager) Technical Support.
