What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified systems and equipment (electronics, mechanics and software) for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
The Product Areas Control & Actuation, Gripen and Mission Avionics as well as Common Engineering are all part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and have their operation in Jönköping and Järfälla.
The section Mechanics & System Engineering within the Engineering Department is looking for an Engineer with placement in Jönköping.
Your role
As an Engineer within our group, you work with analyses of products in the development phase. A majority of the systems are electronic systems but mechanical systems are also included.
Your focus is on Reliability Prediction, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Maintenance analysis and system safety analysis such as Fault Tree Analysis. The activities are performed in close corporation with system and development engineers. Dependable of interest, the work could be extended with Life time calculation.
In the work with Reliability Prediction and Life time calculation you use special software tools and Excel. You must have the drive to understand the mathematics behind the calculations and the design (electronic and mechanical) of the products. The aim with all work is to, by early involvement, be able to affect the design. This will result in robust and reliable products.
You will report to the project managers and your line manager.
Your skills and experience
In the future, you manage all parts of the ILS- and System Safety work and are able to take an overall responsibility for all ILS activities in a project, from the quotation phase, to development and verification of the requirements.
Depending on interest, there are possibilities to deepen your knowledge in some part of the process; reliability, system safety, maintainability or lifetime prediction.
You are a Bachelor engineer or have other adequate education.
You are interesting in calculation and analysis.
It is valuable with experience from;
• Hardware development
• Material engineering
• Statistics
This position involves working with Swedish defence classified information and therefore requires a Swedish citizenship.
