We are now strengthening the business controller team with a System Controller. This is a new role which will be instrumental in both development and maintenance of financial reporting and analysis within the company. Key responsibilities will be on one hand to maintain and ensure integrity of existing financial reporting tools and on the other to challenge the current way of doing things, to be a driver of improvement initiatives to further develop our reports and tools to meet the evolving needs of the company's businesses. The role is challenging as it will combine the need to be flexible, creative and innovative with more routine tasks where a detail focus is essential.
The successful candidate will be part of the Business Control team but will have high visibility to and interact with other functions and different levels of management. Key stakeholders are the business and country organizations together with the business intelligence function.
Main areas of responsibilities
• Maintain and develop financial reporting systems and system tools, such as Revenues, OPEX and P&L report generator
• Overall management of master data related to financial reporting tools such as split files, cost centers and cost center structures, including management of system related monthly financial close activities
• Develop new financial reports and reporting structures together with representatives from the businesses
• Execute monthly standard financial reporting packs, to management, countries and business functions
• Interact frequently with different levels of the business operations to understand and support the needs for financial reporting
• Development, documentation and execution of internal trainings related to financial systems and tools as required
• Active member of the business control team, participating also in other Finance related processes and projects, such budget and long range planning.
Qualifications
Education/Learning Experience/Work Experience
You have a university degree in Finance, Computer Sciences or Engineering and have at least 1-2 years work life experience preferably from finance related tasks. A basic understanding of accounting such as accruals, revenue recognition, valuation and reporting principles are considered valuable. Experience from master data management, building dynamic financial data models, quickly manipulate complex data and conduct in depth analysis is preferred.
Other elements considered positively are work experiences from the pharmaceutical industry and from work in an international environment.
Skills/Knowledge/Languages
• Strong communication skills in English, oral and written.
• Advanced Excel, VBA and spreadsheet skills are required together with a structured approach to work and strong analytical skills.
• Strong problem solving skills required
• Ability to build data models, using spread sheets and presentation software, as well as database knowledge and to manipulate complex data is considered highly valuable
• Financial modelling and ability to graphically present complex financial data in an understandable way is valuable
To be successful in the role you have a large IT interest and understanding of business systems and financial reports. You should also have genuine interest in the commercial side of operations and be willing to develop in that area.
