JOB DESCRIPTION
In the Systems group within Core Technologies – Analytics & Systems we focus our work on identifying and implementing technologies aimed at increasing the value of the network for surveillance applications. This includes network protocols, media technologies, cloud computing and communication as well as leveraging system functionality by developing and exploiting synergies across the network.
As a System and Software Engineer you will be part of an innovative group within R&D and your main tasks will be:
• Video Surveillance system design and prototyping
• Embedded C programming and/or C# .NET programming during investigation and implementation phase
• End user use case development and investigations
• Investigation and implementation of possible new technologies for partners to access and use functionality in Axis products
• Investigation of technical aspects of possible long term expansion of Axis market offering for video surveillance
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We believe you have a Master in Technical Engineering or equivalent and at least five years professional experience in a relevant area. You are an experienced programmer and have extensive experience with systemization and the ability to always put your work in relation to the high-level system context. You are interested in both technical and business aspects of system partitioning.
Experience of at least one additional area within network architecture, ease-of-use, distributed audio/video applications, API design or network security is required. Experience with development of use cases is highly desired.
Furthermore we believe you are interested in sharing your work with others and that you have a general ability to work very well in a team oriented environment. You should also have an open mind and be able to think outside the box. Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and oral, are required.

Core Technologies – Analytics & Systems are responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Analytics and Systems. We perform technology roadmapping; execute the roadmap by developing new technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies. Finding and investigating new technologies and new applications of technologies is a big part of our work. We also act as a competence centre within Axis with regard to the core competence areas.
