Global External Sourcing (GES) is accountable for the sourcing and supply of externally manufactured products into the AstraZeneca network. The products we handle within GES include both APIs, Formulated & Packed products and are sourced from suppliers located in a number of different countries and supplied to customers across all regions.
GES is organised in a Process Centric Organisation (PCO) with two main processes; Supply to Customer and Establish New Supply to Customer, with a high focus on multi-functional teamwork.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Planning team in GES for a Supply Chain Process Specialist, based in Södertälje, SWE or Macclesfield, UK. Internally we call this role Local Process Champion.
We are a group of diverse subject matter experts that have a unique role in our planning department to maintain standards and uplift capability. Today, we are a team of 10, both Local Process Champions and Planning Change Coordinators looking forward to welcoming our new colleague!
What you'll do
As our Supply Chain Process Specialist (Local Process Champion) your are the link between our global supply chain department and our global external sourcing department. This means that you will primarily work in the Supply to Customer process, leading and supporting different initiatives with supply and planning expertise. This is delivered in close collaboration with other GES roles, such as Planning Leads and their teams, Supply Chain Leads, other LPCs etc.
You will guide and support to new supply chain set up based on need. The role can participate in ENSTC project at late stages to design and influence supply chain set up in our business systems.
You will support the Global Process Owner in ongoing improvement work in their process area by provision of detailed process area expertise and/or local process expertise.
You will be representing GES Planning in Global Planning forums and acting as the GES process champion for Planning. Acting as Lead in end-user training for APO and the Planning processes, developing training plans for GES and ensure alignment to Global planning processes and training.
Core activities include:
* Champions process changes and support super users and end users in acceptance and implementation of changes to their way of working
* Maintain, develop and apply planning processes in line with AZ global business processes
* Represent your business area in non GES forums providing detailed GES process knowledge
* Ensures alignment to execution of processes working with line management including review of KPI 's to monitor process performance & corrective measures.
* Identifies improvement opportunities in existing processes and develops business case including input to gap analysis and business process procedures.
* Train people of global and local planning process in GES
Essential Requirements
* Extensive supply chain and planning knowledge
* Project management skills
* Experience of, and ability to, lead strategic projects and initiatives across multiple sites/countries
* Experience in training teams and individuals
* SAP ERP and APO knowledge
You need to have strong influencing skills to perform the requirements above in a successful way.

* Lean experience
* Demonstrable experience of delivering continuous improvement
* Experience of working with contract manufacturing
