Solution delivery Unit DVP is a global unit within Volvo providing IT solution supporting all Volvo Group product development globally. The mission of the unit is to ensure that the Volvo Group 's IT solutions and IT projects within the area of product development are managed in an optimal way.
Solution Center CAD/VPDM & VM
The Solution Center CAD/VPDM & VM is a function, within Solution delivery Unit DVP. The Solution Center (SC) has the responsibility to deliver applications used in the Volvo Group for 3D development and virtual product data management and data analysis. The SC covers both unique (TD/BA) and shared (Global) solutions. The SC has full responsibility for runtime (cost, quality of service) and for the delivery of projects. The SC is supporting roadmap design and long term planning in its area. It is then responsible to drive deliveries according to the global solutions agenda.
We look for a Solution Leader for the CAD area
You will be a part of journey to develop Volvo's way of working within the Computer Aided Design (CAD) area and support a broad and global user base of Designers and Geometry Architects, with a specific focus on IT solutions supporting this.
You will identify their needs and define improvements for IT solutions to make the daily work more efficient. You will also work as Project Manager for solution projects.
As a Solution Leader, you are the end to end responsible for the IT solution towards the business. You will identify business needs and establish contract with the IT organization so they will deliver services according to your requirements.
Key responsibilities
Solution
• Understand business needs and way of working with CAD applications
• Propose and prioritize improvements for the solutions (new functionality, version upgrade, configuration...)
• Follow up the IT deliveries, support and maintenance, from the IT delivery teams
• Propose needed service level targets (through SLA)
• Manage the License renewals
Business
• Secure that the solution delivery plan is aligned with the level of business criticality for the solution
• Main point of contact for business requirement, roll-out needs etc.
• Sets the business requirements for hand-over from projects to maintenance
• Set-up and drive the Process & Solution Key User network
• Ensure effective end-user support incl. Training needs is secured for the solution with high quality
• Communicate Enhancement estimates to the BSPM
Other
• You will drive the supplier relations with Vendor Management Office (VMO)
• Work as project managers within the domain
• Share knowledge and experiences within the Solution Leader community and supporting teams

Required competencies
• Very good understanding of CAD tools and how they are used within various Volvo organization
• Good understanding of working in an PLM environment with different organizations and needs
• Relevant business understanding of the application of CAD
• Social skills is of importance to communicate with different stakeholders and to drive a global Process & Solution Key User network
• Holistic view for CAD to align ways of working and leveraging the right tool(s) for the right purpose
• Self-driven and open minded person that has the ability to have a good overview but still the sense for details
• Work with and drive activities together with a team having great experience in the area and Volvo's Way of working
• Engineering degree or similar within relevant areas
• Self-driven and flexible in planning your timetable to enable cooperation with global colleagues
Wanted profile
You have a few years of experience working within the product development department and in the area of CAD. You are open to and enjoy change and continuous improvement work. Since you are part of a global unit, with global responsibilities, you must enjoy to actively cooperate with various stakeholders around the world and to navigate in a multi-cultural environment. It is important you have an innovative and creative mindset in order to inspire and challenge in your organization.
