SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Do you have the potential to take on a role as software engineer and assure fail-safe operations in extreme conditions? Software development is a vital function at CPAC considering our product range and integrated safety critical systems for vehicles and vessels. As an engineer at CPAC will put you in contact with all parts of the company and all technologies. If you are the kind of person that thirsts for knowledge, likes to understand how all pieces fit together and never give in until you have all the answers, then we would like to talk to you.

Responsibilities
You will be part of an agile team with focus on software and test development for autonomous trucks. As an agile engineer, you will participate in almost all activities, such as code development, code review, verification planning, test specifications, test execution and automated test development.
Application knowledge is important, and the work is carried out from our office as well as in the vehicles that we develop new and pioneering functionality for. To deliver products on time and with high quality, tight collaboration is needed within and between our project teams. You will also be responsible for enhancing CPAC's knowledge and work methods within your area of expertise.

You will have your starting point at our head office in Sweden but have the flexibility and skills to support and perform test activities at the Norwegian market. The application in this case is autonomous trucks in confined area.
We recruit for attitude and train for skills. For this position we see that you have a few years of experience as a test or software development engineer with knowledge of using and developing test methods and tools. It is your passion for technology and your curiosity that makes it hard for you to stay away from continuously working hands-on with the latest development within software, test & verification.
In this case You also need to have experience about product systems like LIDAR, RADAR, IMU, GPS & RTK systems located in an automotive environment.
You are a team player with strong personal commitment and a will to share responsibilities. You constantly challenge assumptions and strive to improve everything you do. You have the courage to respectfully disagree and are prepared to back your position with evidence. Your educational background is most likely a Master of Science in electrical or mechanical engineering, or similar. You have no trouble working in both Swedish and English environments.

Desired skills
As a software and test engineer working with integrated safety critical systems, and more specifically autonomous trucks, we value previous experience in ISO 26262 and FMEA process.
Work experience in ROS platform, Volvo-specific protocols, Volvo Co-Pilot platform, Linux, Git, Android platform, TEA2+,Network communication (TCP, IP, UDP), Sensor fusion is also cherished.
Knowledge of these is an advantage, but if you're an engineer and smart, we expect you to be able to continuously learn new tools and techniques. If you do not have all prerequisites in place, please convince us about your potential to acquire the skills and be prepared to back up your statements with previous achievements. A general understanding of the product development process, high work capacity and the ability to effectively plan and prioritize your own activities are also meriting. By contributing to good CM-culture within the company and understanding the customer project management and important development tools like Jira we think you can report efficiently and understand the real market challenges at end-customer sites.
