Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we're expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we're on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars' journey into the future.
Where you'll belong
Pilot Plant is a development department within Volvo Cars R&D, with primary responsibility for building physical test objects for product and process verification. Our goal is to find and correct as many discrepancies as possible at an early phase to deliver world-class products from our factories.
Do you want to be involved at an early phase and work with the company's upcoming products before many others? Then the role of Simulation Engineer could be the place for you. We are dedicated to building cross-functional and empowered teams and an environment where we learn every day, challenge each other, and
give continuous feedback.
What you will do
You will be a member of a team that is responsible to develop our new robot stations and modify our existing lines for our next generation of products. The main tools that we use are Siemens Process Simulate-Process Design and Teamcenter Manufacturing Process Planner.
In the role as Simulation Engineer, you will participate in different projects, initiatives, and work with many different departments worldwide. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the delivery and quality of process and product simulations, perform virtual analysis of industrial robot and verification for different development scenarios.
Who you are
We believe you B.Sc. degree or equivalent within Automation or similar area of education. You communicate well in English and have experience, knowledge, and inquisitiveness about working with 3D manufacturing IT tools. An M.Sc. degree is meritorious.
On a personal level, we believe you are a self-driven team player with high ambitions and a sense of ownership, as well as a dedication to quality in everything you do.
You take a structured approach to your work and have analytical skills that you have successfully applied to engineering tasks in the past. You collaborate well with your peers and are open to share your work and expertise, and you are also not afraid to ask when you need their help.
