Your Business Area
At AstraZeneca Campus Södertälje we have AstraZeneca's largest global manufacturing and distribution facility. Our production plants can handle the entire process, from the chemical production of active pharmaceutical substances to formulation, filling /tableting, packaging and distribution to our customers. Here are also several global support functions located, in total we employ around 4 800 people in Södertälje.

Our SHE department consist of 16 experts and 4 section managers. Each expert is a specialist within his/her field and together we cover the full scope of Environment, Health and Safety at AZ. As a team we make sure that all functions within Campus Södertälje are working to build a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace for all employees. We support and ensure our organisation so that SHE always is placed high on the agenda! We work cross functional, both locally and globally contributing to a wider Regional SHE-network and a global team.

Your role
As SHE Director, you will develop and implement the SHE-strategy for Campus Södertälje to enable a safe, sustainable and healthy workplace.

You will also lead and develop our team of SHE-experts working across a variety of disciplines to provide mentorship and support to enable AstraZeneca to achieve its strategic objectives. As manager, you provide clear leadership and guidance to your team making it possible for them to perform at their best. You ensure that your team members have development discussions which provides the framework for their future success. You will have accountability for the SHE-budget and the overall performance of the SHE-team.

Development and implementation of the Management System is a part of your role. As is, to ensure there is a governance framework to provide assurance to the business in all aspects of SHE.

Your role includes owning the relationship with senior partners within AstraZeneca, and externally where required, and to influence key decisions appropriately. On behalf of AstraZeneca, you will therefore lead the interface and relationship with relevant external regulatory bodies to ensure AstraZeneca is Licensed to Operate.

Essential Requirements
At a minimum you must have a university degree qualified in a science, engineering, manufacturing discipline or equivalent. With a minimum of 10 years leadership experience.

To succeed in your role, you have solid experience in the Safety, Health and Environment area where you have acted at leadership/management level. You need former leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and lead diverse teams. This role needs you to be comfortable making decisions, sometimes with limited information.

Your outstanding Swedish and English skills will be essential for you upcoming role, as is your excellent communication skills and confident in supporting stakeholders at all levels in our organization. Our SHE department is a service provider therefore you need great customer and supplier relationship management skills.

You can show us a track record and experience of project management - leading Change & SHE Projects and delivering them to time, quality and budget. You have good understanding and approach to risk management.

As a person you have a dynamic approach to and are comfortable working in an agile environment. Preferred is demonstrable experience in a pharmaceutical / biotechnology environment and in developing safe working processes.
