AstraZeneca is currently looking to hire a SHE coordinator to Business Support, within Pharmaceutical Technology & Development (PT&D) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The role
As a SHE coordinator you will contribute with a high level of SHE awareness within PT&D. For PT&D it is critical that all aspects of SHE is taken seriously and it will be your responsibility to ensure that all SHE standards are maintained in the most effective way, by taking previous learnings into action. As a SHE coordinator you will act quickly to create an environment that enables others to perform at their very best. You will coach and support managers to carry out their SHE duties and be the main link into the Sweden and UK SHE organisation.
To be successful in this role, it is important to understand customer needs and requirements and tailor products and services to address these. It is also important to understand the underlying issues, to proactively engage with the customer, to identify solutions to products or services. You should have the ability to think beyond boundaries of own role, challenge status quo and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to ensure PT&D has a high level of SHE awareness by observing, performing root cause analysis and learning from incidents and accidents.
• Actively participate in risk assessment processes and ensure that functional risk assessments are completed and updated.
• Follow up and keep record of observations, incidents and accidents and ensure that statistics are communicated, and present quarterly and yearly SHE reports to PT&D and Sweden SHE.
• Plan, document, actively participate and follow up SHE audits and act as an advisor when needed at safety inspections.
• Communicate learnings and ensure training in new law and regulations to all staff within PT&D.
• Ensure SHE related documentation are updated and relevant.
• Support and administrate SHE administrative systems.
• Issue work permits to different parts of PT&D and Safe System of Work (SSoW) certificates to eg, external service providers. Make sure all delegations of SHE duties are in place.
• Actively participate, contribute and sometime lead SHE forums and SHE related meetings.
• Create and maintain excellent relationships and networks at the Gothenburg site by connecting with PT&D leadership teams and staff, Sweden SHE organisation and external manufacturers and suppliers.
• Proactive involvement in the development and maintenance of processes and initiatives, be an ambassador for best practice and lead and contribute to activities and projects within the SHE area.
• Actively search for continuous improvement within SHE to simplify ways of working and improve efficiency and ensure that inefficient business processes, identified problems and opportunities are raised to accountable persons.
• Active member of the Business Support team, work collaboratively with colleagues to support PT&D and proactively share knowledge within the team.
Preferred experience and key knowledge
• Educated to graduate level or equivalent experience
• Passionate about making a difference regarding SHE activities and have a high degree of personal credibility
• Ability to demonstrate a drive and energy to establish the role and make a difference
• Excellent team working, networking and influencing skills. Have the ability to engage relevant AstraZeneca staff and leaders in developing solutions
• Excellent customer and service oriented competence and the ability to provide a high quality, professional service, working proactively and independently
• Ability to use previous experience to be pragmatic when applying regulations and SHE policies to PT&D's environment
• Capable of making effective decisions, acting courageously and communicating with conviction and inspiration at all levels
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business demands and SHE standards
• Experience in PT&D's processes and systems is an advantage
• Ability to prioritise and progress multiple projects
• Good English communication skills verbally and in writing
