We are looking for a Server Virtualization Specialist to strengthen our global virtualization team within Data Center & Network, Global IS Shared Service organization based in Lund, Sweden.
The resource is a highly skilled person, with at least five years of working experience in the IT operations area. Focus areas are virtualization techniques.
The resource is an expert in the virtualization area with the ability to design and operate virtual hosting environments and to perform advanced troubleshooting as needed. Provides Level III support for the virtualization platforms and is responsible for the overall functionality in the virtualization area.
Responsibilities will include
• Enterprise design principles and best practice for implementing VMware virtualization farms
• Support overall health and capacity management of VSphere environment
• Respond to and resolve all alerts and traps
• Interface with Datacenter, Network and storage team to coordinate and schedule new implementations or maintenance initiatives
• Maintain VMware vCenter and all Virtualization / Hardware Management solutions (vCenter Datacenter, Clusters, and ESXi Nodes)
• Perform infrastructure upgrades and security patching with Update Manager
• Maintain virtualization environments overall compliance
• Create and Manage VM/vApp Templates and customization
• Manage vRealize Operations Manager and work with vendor to maintain the overall health and compliance of application
• Configure Thresholds, alarms, and alerts
Qualifications
• VMware vSphere 6.x (Expert knowledge)
• Experience with Performance Analysis to follow up with Server owners to recover wasted resource allocations
• Experience maintaining Virtualization Environment Capacity Reports
• Experience of vRealize Operations Manager
• Understanding of design principles around networking, storage, and servers
• Management of vDistributed Switches
• SimpliVity
• Strong written and verbal skills, English
