Senior User Experience (UX) Designer
In your assignment, you will research and design workflows and user interfaces for web applications and services for our Flight Operations and Crew Management customers. Design work is primarily done in Figma but not limited to it.
You will also be part of the larger BDAS User Experience (UX) organization of over 100 researchers, product designers, and data analysts where you will benefit from, and contribute to, our DesignOps initiatives, such as our design system, training program, ResearchOps, and tools working groups. You will report to a Design manager with over 25 years of experience in the design industry who cares deeply about mentorship and your career development.
Tasks & Expectations:
In alignment with our Design Thinking process, you will:
Empathize: You will help to plan and direct research activities in collaboration with research specialists.
Define: You collaborate with researchers, lead the analysis and synthesis of research data, coordinate the creation of journey maps, scenarios, service blueprints, and other documentation.
Ideate: You lead the team in the development of solutions through brainstorming, sketching, and creation of mockups, ensuring regular reviews and reporting status. You will coordinate presentations and other communication.
Prototype: You will oversee the creation of prototypes and coordinate presentations to management and other stakeholders.
Test: Senior UX designers plan and conduct testing activities, working directly with users and collecting feedback. They ensure results are reported and incorporated into future revisions.
Implement: You coordinate with the development team to ensure proper collaboration and oversee design system use.
Measure: You collaborate with data analysts to ensure the correct metrics are tracked and actioned.

Required Qualifications:
Longstanding applied experience in design process, design methods, design principles, and a solid intuition.
MA (Master of Arts) / MS (Master of Science) in User Experience Design, Industrial Design, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, or related disciplines and typically 8 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven track record of working with human-centered-design methodologies on high-quality, digital products.
Driven by curiosity and eager to work in one of the most exciting industries on the planet.
Ability to discuss eye-to-eye with stakeholders like Engineering Managers, Product Owners, etc.
Excellent communicator of design work and your rationale behind proposals to internal stakeholders and customers.
Team player and self-starter who can organize activities and deeply collaborate with other designers and subject matter experts.
Ability to contribute meaningful approaches for how to collaboratively run UX research in agile teams.
Capability to creatively synthesize insights, build intuitively understandable insight formats, and drive decision making.
Ability to facilitate collaborative workshops with team members and stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of aviation and/or aviation related processes would be highly desirable.
Experience with agile methods (e.g., SAFe).

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
