Take the opportunity to join the Genome Engineering In Vivo Models team at our vibrant AstraZeneca R&D site in Gothenburg, Sweden, as we are looking for two Senior Scientists with focus on in vivo genome modification.
In this exciting role, you will play an important part in our growing Genome Engineering department. We are working within the broader Discovery Biology organisation with a common goal to innovate at the interface of science and technology. We discover new targets, create reagents, assays and disease models to discover new medicines, and to develop cell and gene therapies.

What you'll do:
In this lab-based in vivo senior scientist role, you will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of new genetically engineered mouse models for oncology generated by CRISPR-Cas9 and related technologies. Leveraging your strong knowledge and experience in genome editing you will also have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to gene therapy projects. You will get the opportunity to use your innovative thinking to explore the in vivo delivery of new editing technologies.
In your everyday work our in vivo scientists design and develop genome editing-based strategies to generate and confirm by sequencing new mouse models of human cancer. Our scientists also test delivery tools such as LNP and viral vectors, to improve the efficiency of genome editing in vivo. You will be involved in all stages of projects; plan, design, execute and analyse data from experiments to generate high quality results to support project decisions and milestones. As well, you will present the outcome to the project teams and prepare written reports
Essential for the role:
The right candidate for this position is an innovative team member who enjoys collaboration and interacting across our AZ global functions and fields. It is important for you to do the right thing - and this goes hand in hand with your good organisational, data management and documentation skills, with effective problem-solving and a strong delivery focus. You should also have;
* Knowledge and experience with genome editing tools (Cas9, base or prime editors).
* Expertise in and a passion for working 'hands on' in vivo work and delivery of CRISPR reagents.
* Expertise with analysis of genome editing outcomes, on and off target analysis, NGS.
* Have academic or industrial experience or a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
* Collaborative mentality, great communication skills and a passion for in vivo.
