What's in it for you?
The group Wind Tunnel Lab performs tests in our Climatic Wind Tunnel, our Aerodynamic Wind Tunnel and in our cold chassie dyno facility called KC2. On complete vehicles, we conduct various test conditions that simulate real driving conditions. Our business is mainly driven by complete vehicle test ordered by Volvo Cars R&D. Our future seems exciting with many rig/system investments to come. The group consist of 20 dedicated employees and we are now looking for an engaged and knowledgeable Senior Rig Engineer to join our curious and ambitious team.

What you'll do
As Senior Rig Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical evaluation and the technical delivery in accordance with the identified needs and decided strategies of the development. You will ensure that equipment is handled and used in a correct way, by creating instructions and educations for operators and customers. This is to ensure the quality of the delivery from the department. You will also lead pre studies for development of assessment needed for decision of budget investigation, and work with verification testing according to test methods, requirements and measurement.
Main responsibilities:
• Act as technical support for investment coordinators within Wind Tunnel Lab regarding development of LRP documentation, budget and purchase investigations.
• Provide technical knowledge regarding the facility.
• Represent the rig owner in realization projects of new test equipment and rigs within Wind Tunnel Lab.
• Be responsible for correct usage of the facility and test equipment.
• Participate in technical development of test equipment and test methods.
• On own initiative perform technical development of test equipment and test methods within Wind Tunnel Lab.
• Participate in strategy groups regarding the product and test equipment.
• Ensure that the rig owner is continually updated regarding test equipment and test methods.
• Follow and inform about trends regarding vehicle development, legal requirements and test equipment.

You and your skills
We see that you have a B.Sc. degree or more within a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience. You have extensive experience from testing facilities, testing and test equipment and a proven capability to independently develop a framing of questions and lead investigations or projects. You can also independently analyze measuring data in general tools, e.g., Matlab, and present these in a report. You also need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Previous experience from work in wind tunnels, testing analysis and cooling machinery is meritorious, as well as knowledge of aerodynamics, programming, and the agile way of working. A driver's license (B) is also meritorious.

On a personal level, you are a communicative person with good ability to work in teams as well as independently. You have pedagogically skills and a strong driving force and initiative. Finally, you share our passion for cars.
