We are currently looking for a Senior Researcher in Physiology for our client that is a large pharmaceutical company located in Mölndal. The assignment is a temporary position at Poolia Science that will start immediately and go on for 8 months. It will be located at Discovery Science that is a global function within Innovative Medicines. Discovery Science supports innovative medicine project teams from multifunctional capability centers in Alderley Park, Boston and Mölndal. Discovery Sciences is mainly involved in early lead generation through the late Lead optimization stage of drug discovery. It is composed of several capabilities where Reagent and Assay Development (RAD) is one among several others such as Screening Sciences and Structure & Biophysics. This position will be placed in the RAD Department where we focus on delivering different types of reagents and assays for high impact into the drug development.

Publiceringsdatum2012-11-29Dina arbetsuppgifterThe main tasks for the role includes, experimental design, plan comprehensive in vivo studies including relevant breeding programs and statistics, perform experiments, compile, display, present and discuss obtained data. We also expect the candidate to take a central role in scientific development in the area of in vivo physiology. In the role of a Senior Researcher in the department of Discovery Science you will:
• Lead and act as a mentor for research scientists
• Work independently to contribute to the design and analysis of experimental procedures
• Show self-awareness of training needs
• Interpret experimental data and plan further experiments
• Awareness of current developments in the literature
• Identify and solve problems associated with their experiments
• Achieve personal scientific visibility through project contributions, internal presentations and publications
• Writing abstracts/patents and peer-reviewed publications
• May be a key member of a collaboration or supervise an external scientist for AZ
• Identify leading improvements in technologies that can be successfully applied
• Understand, write up and follow the ethical applications required for animal experimentation
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You have a Ph.D. (or corresponding experience) in physiology, pharmacology or similar and several years of hands on experience in a variety or in vivo technologies to assess mouse behaviour, metabolism, cardiac functions, respiration etc. The candidate should be experimentally focused, with strong troubleshooting skills, adept at putting ideas into practice and providing support/supervision and coaching to peer scientists.
As a person you should be organized, accurate and be able to work independently while moving forward. It is important that you are fully committed to project deliveries and progression and display a curious, open and outgoing personality. The successful candidate is a communicative team player that likes to work within a team and collaborate to meet deadlines and ensure high quality deliveries.
